For anyone who owns or has owned a sport / Street Ka, Puma or any other car with the gearshift knob, stainless steel!?

I have a Sport Ka with a beautiful stainless steel lever knob is nice and all, but a pain in the butt when it's cold very hot! In the winter cold is foolish to try to change gears until the car warms up, and in summer you can not even talk about few days is soo hot! I gave him for 2 winters and one summer since I had the car, but it makes me mad! I even tried to make a leather cover much, but failed miserably! I want to do something before next summer. What other sport / Street Ka drivers do? or other person having the same problem for the case!
