Mavic Ksyrium ...... ELITE vs SL?
tomorrow im going to buy a set of wheels Ksyrium Elite (2008 model). Before doing so I was wondering if anyone traveled in both SL and the elite and if you could tell me if they found a remarkable difference. the price difference between the two is approximately $ 1000nzd.
I have the elite and went two laps short (about 12 miles total) in the SL. Honestly, I felt no difference, but SL is noticeably lighter and definitely have a serious bling factor. For me, I will not buy a set of wheels (MTN, or road), which is too expensive. According my experience are generally not as durable and can be very expensive for the service. In addition, the roads here are horrible and axles race get rung too fast. When replacing the wheels on my road bike, I'm going with Mavic again .... rear axle design continues to be the shit and requires frequent service of keep the longest. Improved slightly after the '06 models, but there are still more wheels for the same price or less (and if your bike shop does not have the right body or radio-cassette in stock, you can plan on a long wait for Mavic to get the coins). I love my elite, but they came on the bike and eventually I abandons Mavic something. Not a bad general conference, however. I have a couple teeth in them, but remained faithful to more than 2,300 miles to date.
