The middle of Southern California has an ideal climate for growing grapes. At least a dozen have been established vineyards of Temecula Valley. On Wednesday, the sixth day our vacation, we headed west on Interstate 10 to see what type of wine that we can find.
My husband, Randy, was impressed by the sight of all wind turbines which the road passes. Hundreds, even thousands, of 3-armed contraptions that looked like airplane propellers, perched on top of metal poles support row after row in a variety of heights. The propellers facing all directions to make a game child, no matter which way the wind blows. Wind Energy is a very creative use of a natural resource.
Always research a good deal on the luggage, we stopped when he encountered a huge complex of outlet stores. We stopped at a certain discount to "stores for a bargain. The cheapest we found was over $ 200 for a piece of luggage. The air temperature was 112 degrees and too hot to walk the tarmac just happy we're totally in the PT Cruiser and pushed toward I-215.
We finally arrive at Rancho California Road. Willing to let our taste buds excited, we arrived at the first winery we met. Opening car doors, we noticed an immediate change in temperature. It was a clear and sunny 80 degrees with a slight breeze blowing. Nice place, but does not even recognize it exists. After browsing and take some pictures of the herb garden, we have decided that we must watch too many tourists AA to take it seriously enough to receive the service.
We went into the cellars where Stuart where, fortunately, have been received and was immediately asked to drink. For $ 10, try five wines and leave with a glass of wine and memories they resorted to the bar. We have tried different varieties, but there are not really my imagination, with the exception of a bottle from $ 45 Zinfandel Port. I could not risk having to break in the suitcase on the return flight, and if you can not pass through the airport search with more than 3.5 ounces of water, there is no possibility to get a bottle of wine in your hand luggage.
While there we found a display of olives. Some were stuffed with garlic, and some were filled with pepper and some mixed in a salad of artichoke. They were not regular olives. The olives were on steroids! Some were as big as balls ping pong. We bought a jar of olives stuffed with blue cheese. Should we eat before we head back to Tennessee. No problem, we have a week here.
The next stop was the Mount Palomar Winery. Lush blackberry vine decorated unit sloping upward to the center where visitors are welcome. For only $ 6 it might be five wines, but I think the guys that we liked or that were hit the cap before it make since I lost my mind and casting continues throughout the history of our fifth taste. It was a fig, a comedian insurance, and more wine that had the most fun I had. I must have tried at least a dozen of wine before the room began spinning and my knees felt weak. My husband has quickly paid for a bottle of wine that are forced to drink while we were in California. No problem We have a week here.
All the wine that made me want Italian food, so our secretary told us where to find comic books a good place to try. In other words, if we could find. We went several times for the parking of the mall where the restaurant was supposed to be. Even stopped and asked people who obviously had no idea. They sent us to a wild-goose chase. We were the point of resigning when we spotted a small restaurant hidden between two large tents. We made a bee line for her. The food was delicious and had a pair of musicians playing jazz music. The place was almost empty, for Randy and I moved a few tables and danced a half-hour before we decided to go back to Palm Springs. When we walked towards the car gave Randy on his shoulder and saw the restaurant came recommended rate. I swear I was not there when we went to another place.
We take a different route home. Highway 74, we took to the small town of Hemet, where we saw a small center with Sears and Penney as anchor stores. Randy stood in the parking. We examined the ten shops at the mall and not find everything I thought it was worth the money. When we left Penney, Randy eye department baggage hidden in a corner we saw on our way, in fact, had a quality set of five pieces labeled about $ 200 that were on sale for $ 79. The set was three to pull the case with all types of compartments, size 30 inches, 29 inches and 27 inches, which works perfectly. When we reached the register, she asked for $ 65, plus tax. They had a sale and everything in the service baggage was 25% for the lowest price of the ticket. Great!
The scenic spot is always a wonderful end to our day. The sun was setting Hemet on as we crossed the mountainous part of our unit. When we were almost back to the desert, we stopped at a point of departure overlooking the cluster of cities. In the black sky, millions of stars decorated the sky with a cloud of silver.
Perhaps there no paradise in the desert during the summer.
