This is a short or long stem better on a mountain bike?
I am a cross country / cycle route with a bike MTN, which has 4 inches of travel. Average size and weight.
It depends. Fit is very important, and a mother can help, but no solution free. If you are mounted in a frame of appropriate size is probably 80 to 110 mm is very good. If you have a very short stem, to form the front turning too fast, and when can cause climbing passage forward a bit vague, but it can lift the front wheel easier, whereas if they have a greater front wheel brake is more stable, probably peddaling help, but could be hard on the downhill sections.
