Is there an equivalent of 21 speed rear derailleur?
I need a replacement for a third-TZ30 21-speed Shimano rear derailleur for my bike, but can not find one online. Is there an equivalent derailleur would work? Thanks
You need to know if you want a direct connection (frame) of assembly or a hook diverter assembly. Besides, any decent modern work unit for you. There is really no such thing as a speed of 7 (21) or 10 speed derailleur rear. I know they are called as such, but all subsequent modern derailleurs will cover the same range of motion, if you have 5 teeth in the rear or 11. The indexing, if any, comes from the sliders. Because it has a triple front (7 x 3 = 21) will need a long cage change in both varieties. This is a function the increased slack in the chain that is inherent in the triple crank configurations. Hanger is the style of mounting the lower end bikes, and the ear-shaped hanger is a part of derailleur. Direct mounting, the suspension is a part of (or already screwed into) the eventual abandonment of the bike. I placed a link to an image of a mounting rack below what they can determine what you have.
