For Catholics: What is the average age for an infant or child to be baptized?
My first baby was baptized in a month. My second is on its way and I wanted to wait until I returned to my country, which would be within the year. Is it too late to baptize him? What do you think?
I named my daughter 4 1 / 2 months old, because I wanted all our family there with us and that's when it developed. I think the average is 1-3 months old, but I've seen as late as 16-18 months of age. I think you should wait until you go home if that is what is comfortable for you. I do not think it's too late but I think you could find the handling of the baby while being baptized can be a bit more difficult. Good luck to you and your family.
